June 2010: Groovy Singer-Songwriters
By Lyn Dunagan

Of the dozens of CDs that cross my desk monthly (a mere fraction of what we receive at Caught in the Carousel), I get to listen to a lot of great music. Unfortunately, between my day job and my triathlon schedule, a lot of what I like doesn't make it off my desk in a timely manner. I don't want to see good music get washed away by the incoming tide of the next month, and the next, and so here are the shiniest shells, rescued from the surf. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I have.

Andrew HooverChances, Stances, and Romances (Rock Ridge Music) Acoustic, funky pop-soul with nice grooves and a great voice, Hoover reminds me of Ben Harper and Jason Mraz. |

Zach BorerHome So much to like about this album: clever, sharp, and witty, Home fits your psyche like your favorite pair of jeans-they're never in the closet, because you're either wearing them or washing them. |
