FREEWAYS ON FIRE
Letter from the Editor - December 2007By Alex Green Weve got a lot of issue to give you this month. A lot of issue. **First of all, we sat down with the wonderfully gifted Max Eider to discuss his new album Back In The Bedroom. Ive been a fan of Mr. Eiders for over twenty years, having first been acquainted with him through his work as the guitarist for the Jazz Butcher Conspiracy. Back In The Bedroom is his third solo album and its really marvelous. Literate, hilarious and insightful, Max Eider was a joy to talk to and this extensive interview provides a comprehensive look at his career. **Our New York-based Editor-at-Large and Stickboy scribe David Porter not only got The Real Tuesday Weld to play Consummate Top Ten ball with us, he got the band to give us four top ten lists!! And, I should say, David has written a lovely and informative piece on the Real Tuesday Weld to go along with it. **Reviews, reviews, reviews!! Weve got everything from Yvonne Prinzs take on the new Ringo Star album to Lyn Dunagans close look at the new Anna Ternheim E.P. We also review new ones by Zookeeper, The Marble Index, Bre Loughlin, Canadians and Gram Parsons. **We have a new theme song!! Mr. D.s Paul Mclinden surprised me a few weeks ago by delivering (all the way from Glasgow!) a new theme song for Caught In The Carousel and its just terrific. Weve gone a bit Cosmic American and we couldnt be happier. Its an exclusive song, not available anywhere else. **Next month is going to be huge. Weve got Justin Currie (Del Amitri) in the Consummate Top Ten chamber and hes threatening to do two lists. Stay tuned. Well also have new reviews and new features, so watch this space for the breaking news. In the meantime, do that holiday thing you do--for me that means Chinese food and a movieand well see you in 2008. Love and Rockets, |
