Andrew Collberg

It's fitting to listen to softer, more acoustic music when you first wake up and nineteen-year-old Andrew Collberg's refreshing new album is the perfect companion to a lazy Sunday morning. His self-titled debut is a successful mix of ‘60s melodic pop, folk, and country, combined with an undying sense of unabashed romanticism. Collberg is a Dylan-esque singer/songwriter, with a contagiously cheerful outlook even in the face of despair (see the heartbreaking "Get Back To You." He highlights his country leanings on songs such as the tender "Little Ocean of My Heart" and the down-to-earth "Drying Out," which comes complete with banjos and a harmonica. Collberg's voice is soothing, but with just enough edge to make you believe him when he tells you in the gorgeous "Bright Eyes." Collberg's compelling compositions have the ability to draw you in and make you believe in never-ending love)"When We're Old And Lost") while also reminding you of life's absolute wonders ("Beautiful As Life").
