Anti-Flag

The People or the Gun
Side 1 Dummy

Anti-Flag

Punk is not a fashion statement—it's a philosophy with a sense of urgency. Nowhere is this more true than on the 7th full-length offering from Anti-Flag, The People or the Gun. Imagine putting the finer rapid-fire qualities of Minor Threat in a blender with the melodies of The Clash. If you can, then pour it in glass and drink up the 11 tracks from this amazing opus. Whether it's religion as a bully pulpit or government bailouts, Anti-Flag tackle the subjects they are committed to and passionate about with authentic lyrical sincerity. Their subject matter is dished up with juggernaut drumming from Pat Thetic, amazing bass runs from Chris #2 (listen closely to "We Are The One") and joyous guitar blitzes and riffs from Chris Head and Justin Sane on "The Gre(A)t Depression" is an anthem of brilliant punk guitar work. From the opening "Sodom, Gomorrah, Washington DC" through to the end, the Pittsburgh, PA-based Anti-Flag display a musical maturity, along with their philosophy and tie it all up in a sense of urgency. The punk section of your musical library will not be complete without The People Or The Gun. VIVA PUNK!
