Brandt Brauer Frick

You Make Me Real
!K7

Brandt Brauer Frick

For years critics have complained that acoustic instruments have been left behind in modern dance music and the resulting sounds of the genre lack an organic, natural feel. Germany's Brandt Brauer Frick have made the admirable and ambitious decision to fuse all of the modern delights of techno with the old school organics of acoustic instruments. The band's debut You Make Me Real is a percussive confluence of polymetrics, thoughtful and often dreamy piano chords and techno wizardry. Fidgety, chilled out and utterly cool, You Make Me Real is a real sonic adventure. Numbers like the jittery "Corky Prelude" or the techno twitch of "Caffeine" prove that this is a marriage of sound that truly works. There's something brilliant about electronica meeting classical in a dark alley below a jazz club that lights up the night.
