ALBUM REVIEW

Caddyshack

Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack
La La Land

Caddyshack

Although the film has been a late night, drunken dorm room favorite for years, Caddyshack's soundtrack has been out of print for a long time and is now available for the first time ever on CD. Johnny Mandel's (MASH) original music is immediately recognizable and Kenny Loggins' four contributions—especially the breezy bliss of "I'm Alright" or "Mr. Night"—are enough to evoke images of Bill Murray's boozy battles with cunning gofers or Ted Knight's Learian rainstorm rages. Elsewhere, The Beat's "There She Goes" and Journey's "Any Way You Want It" round out these proceedings. Available in a limited quantity—only 3500 units were pressed—this may not be the Holy Grail of soundtracks, but like that wobbly VHS copy your dad gave you twenty years ago, it's just cool to have.
