Jenn Franklin
Girl Invisible Vol. 1 EP
Groove House Records

This is a dynamite EP. Girl Invisible Vol. 1 is much too short with only four tracks, but each one is a little gem. "Courageous" and "Hold Up The World" are now part of my permanent soundtrack, and "Seven Again" could be the opening track of a Diablo Cody movie. And anyway, who hasn't wanted to shake a parent or two? That song, alone, could save someone a few thousand dollars in therapy some day. "Most Beautiful Man" could fit into a revival of Cabaret, full of joy and regret. Like her alt-rock contemporaries, Regina Spektor, Sara McLachlan, and Meg Braun, Franklin's rich vocals and catchy lyrics pack ten pounds of emotion into a six-pound bag. I hope, hope, hope that Invisible becomes visible and carries this talented singer-songwriter to the next level.
