Kites With Lights

The Weight of Your Heart
24 Hour Service STAT

Kites With Lights

There is definitely an 80's dance vibe on Kites With Lights' debut EP, but it's by no means overly nostalgic. Instead, The Weight Of Your Heart is a selection of delicious synthpop with icy vocals and a slight modern edge that will keep you dancing. Jonah Cordy's breathy vocals are fitting on the seductive title track. The driving beat and soaring instrumentation of "A Mystery" makes it ideal for the dance floor, while the upbeat tempo of "We're Ready," combined with its straightforward delivery, make it the catchiest track here. "The Space" has a harder edge to it, but with the same subdued vocals that make this EP so hard to put down. The closer, "Sound Of The Rain" comes with delicate and light vocals, which contrast nicely with the intensity of the piano accompaniment. A promising start that leaves you wanting more.
