Austin-based Sara Beck is Pink Nasty (her brother, Black Nasty, named her thus). Backed by drummer Jared Meadows and guitar/bass/keyboardist Austin Jenkins, Pink Nasty's unique sound is a blend of Cat Power, Chrissie Hynde, and Scotland's Camera Obscura. Her razor-sharp lyrics are full of feisty humor and clever, self-effacing bitterness. The more I listen, the more I like Pink Nasty -- jangly hooks and all.
