Shitdisco
The Emanator
Dim Mak

Shitdisco's The Emanator is one of those albums that, just minutes in, evoke what it's like to be in the middle of the dancefloor jacked up on a handful of pills a stranger gave you in the bathroom, in the dead center of what is to be a very long night. An unholy confluence of The Ramones, The Rapture and The Prodigy, this Glasgow foursome are all about the kind of feral, lawless velocity, that sets mirror balls on fire, sends bullet trains straight over the tracks and makes every baggy pants raver feel like they're skydiving on crystal meth. "I Know Kung Fu" begins with a tribal drumbeat that gives way to handclaps and vaults into an art punk workout; "Reactor Party" is a syncopated blast of lusty party pop and "Disco Blood" is a heaving, panting, bastard of a track that's one part savage post punk and ten parts drooling dancefloor stomp. Armed with three bass players, a keyboard whiz and a love of everyone from Donna Summer to Public Image Ltd. Shitdisco aren't afraid to add anything to their wild, savage cauldron: "3D Sex Show" is deliciously salacious; "The Emanator" brings to mind the early beats of Adam And The Ants and the Orwellian sting of "Fear Of The Future" warns of a "leering future on video screen."
