Tim Williams
Careful Love
Dovecote

"The heart is forever inexperienced," Thoreau once said. In the case of singer/songwriter Tim Williams, he couldn't have been more accurate. Felled by a heart condition that required intensive open heart surgery and revivified by a new romance, Williams found himself in two unfamiliar positionsbeing left for dead and being brought back to life. Resuscitation has never sounded so good. Williams' third full-length album is a compelling and buoyant collection of songs that prove the heart can take a lot of punches and still find its way to the safe harbor of true love. The punchy pop of "I Hit Another Wall" recounts the resilience of the human sprit; "Oceans" jangles winningly away and "Stilts" is a throbbing little indie rocker that finds Williams gushing, "This is home." The slower numbers are as powerful as the upbeat ones: "All In" is a love letter to commitment; "Love Hate" is lush and lustrous and "I Want To Die In California" reflects the former New Yorker's new love for Los Angeles.
