Zachary Cale
Noise of Welcome
All Hands Electric

Zachary Cale’s third album not only showcases the NYC-based musician’s wondrous fingerpicking skills, it demonstrates that his finesse isn’t just limited to the way he plays guitar. A gentle twelve-song collection, Noise Of Welcome is an understated collection of stunning, orchestral beauty. “Blake’s Way” is sweeping and magnificent; “Day For Night” jangles beautifully away and “Mourning Glory Kid” shyly evinces Cale’s pop smarts while incorporating a catchy West Coast vibe. Recorded at Cale’s home, this is an album that has a loose, back porch intimacy. “Easy Route” is casually wistful; the spare “Hello Oblivion” is an elegy to emptiness and the album closer “War Love” is nothing short of absolutely gutting.
