SCOUTING REPORT
Filmgo.netBy Alex Green
"A good film," Alfred Hitchcock once quipped, "is when the price of the dinner, the theatre admission and the babysitter were worth it." FilmGo.net, a new site dedicated to the art and spirit of independent films, allows its followers to dispense with the babysitter, the dinner and the theatre admission altogether. Allow us to explain.
The brainchild of former Wall Street hotshot Bill Bonfanti Jr., (and partnered by Bonfanti's wife Danielle and Gila Kaplan) FilmGo.net is a site that's dedicated to being a harbor for indie movies and music. Featuring a rolling selection of films that are pulled from a deep stack of submissions, FilmGo.net keeps these films in rotation until the next batch are selected. The films themselves range from Award-winning indie productions like Garrett Bennett's A Relative Thing or Mickey Blaine's Commit to inventive and spirited diamond-in-the-rough movies like Happy Valley that are just waiting to be discovered by broader audiences. In addition to the films (which go for about $7.99 a pop), the site also offers a comprehensive archive of industry news that focuses on both indie and big budget productions as well as a box office predictions for the coming week, music from aspiring artists, contests and Bonfati's blog, which covers the many milieus of the entertainment industry. Allow CITC to introduce you to the founders of FilmGo.net:
